There was a Thracian goddess Bendis.
There was a Thracian tribe Bessi.
Most authorities agree that both names are from PIE *bhAndh- "bind"
(letting A be the Ablaut vowel).
But that is cognate with Latin findo, ... fissus.
So can we reconstruct a bit of Thracian grammar from this (contrast
Germanic *bind- ... *bund-)?
Eg. present n-infix, past participle *-ds- > *-ss- (rare in Germanic)?
It does show a certain similiarity to Latin.
