This group of people is also present in Albania. They are called
Vllah-ë or Vllas-ë. Vllasi is a widepread surname.
Old Albanians refer to them as Romanian shepherds.
They are almost assimilated as they speak Albanian now (and hardly
any word of their own language).
Maybe there is something spared in their names, surnames. One of my
uncles got married to a vllah woman whose name was Dhambrini(e),
shortly Vanda. I remember my mother saying: which part of the
word 'Dhambrini' is 'Vanda' :) ?
There is also another group of people present in Albania,
called 'llaci-fac'. What I remember, people refer to them as coming
from today´s Bulgaria or even Romania.
