Hello !
This group of people is also present in Albania. They are called
Vllah-ë or Vllas-ë. Vllasi is a widepread surname.
Old Albanians refer to them as Romanian shepherds.
They are almost assimilated as they speak Albanian now (and hardly
any word of their own language).
Maybe there is something spared in their names, surnames. One of my
uncles got married to a vllah woman whose name was Dhambrini(e),
shortly Vanda. I remember my mother saying: which part of the
word 'Dhambrini' is 'Vanda' :) ?
There is also another group of people present in Albania,
called 'llaci-fac'. What I remember, people refer to them as coming
from today´s Bulgaria or even Romania.

Hi Alvin.
thank you for your information. The fact that the vlah or vlasi are seen in
Albania as a distinct group confirm that they
do not belong to albanian ethnicity. The fact the vlahs ( rumanians ,
melegno-rumanians,istro-rumanins, arumanians) have almost over 200
words wchich are ONLY in albanian and their language, says that they have
had a common vicinity or that they belonged to the same group long time ago.
This help us to go somehow along. Because if the albanians are supposed not
to be the old illiric people and the valahians are supposed not to be the
old dacian people, then we have a problem.
So far i know, in the argumentaion over an another place of albanians as
Ilyria is named panonia or west of Dacia.
And for the vlahs tehy should come from somewhere from moesia or so..hmm..
I guess i have to study for myself the ancient history of albanian too,
because from the point i am i cannot see where the booth people could live
together to get these only in albanina and vlah-language common words..
I should like to speak more about albanian history and how i said, to learn
something mor about these Skiperi:))
Best Regards,
A. Moeller
