Mm, the semantics seem to fit the fact that Muspellheim is a hot and
burning place. And it's also said in gylfaginning 51 that the army of
Muspells sons is shiningly bright.

But is there any cognates to *sp(H)el closer to the North than latin?
And without the d?

What does Mu mean then?
