The funny thing is that in Albanian, */a:/ [> o] and */o:/ [> e] did
*not* merge, as happened in Indo-Iranian, Balto-Slavic and Germanic.
Worth noting is also the development [e: >] a: > o: > o, as opposed to
[ou >] au > o: > a: > a.
