<hap-> 'open' won't do, but <goj-> looks like a promising candidate, since Albanian <o> may derive from PIE *a: (the other possible source is *e:). In other words, the development *gah2- > *ga: > go- would be completely regular. Definitely worth checking up, though the final -j- is frustratingly ambiguous.

- It looks like as if there were some other candidates for that place: <hap> (open, where <hap-si-> = space, open space), <goj-> (mouth) also attested with the meaning 'cavity, empty space'..
