I think IE cosmogony includes a kind of subterranean sea. In India and
Ireland , the Giants (Fomori,Rakshasa) are said to come from underwater.
In Ireland, the Fomori's mother is Domnu (< *Dubn-), what may come from
*dheub- "deep" or *dheubh- "dark".
