Re: [tied] /s/ to /x/ sound change

Yes, final s is pronnounced "s" in Southern Brazil (including Sao Paulo) and
many parts of Northern and Northeastern Brazil. In Pernambuco, however, the
final s is also pronnounced "s^". The palatalization of final -s also
includes sometimes an -i-:
dez, "10" pronnounced deis^
tres, "3" pronnounced treis^
