Frustratingly, the book does not cite specific sources, so there's no
telling exactly where, when, or in what context this identification
occurs. I don't have anything more detailed handy here, Egyptology
being one of the few subjects poorly covered by IU's libraries.

I do get the impression that at one time or another nearly every
Egyptian deity was identified with nearly ever other Egyptian deity, so
perhaps we should not attach too much significance to this without
further details.
