CLDR attempts to do what you are asking.
http://unicode.org/cldr/apps/survey

If you just want to know the characters, you can click on a language
name and then "Characters". What's under the "Proposed" column is
probably what you are looking for.

For example, here is the information they have on Hausa in Arabic script:
http://unicode.org/cldr/apps/survey?_=ha_Arab&x=characters

Take time to look through the whole site. There is a lot of information
here, but it does require a lot of studying.
