Mr. Barahona appears to be greatly exercised over the word
"palatalization."

He appears to think that it can refer to nothing but a (synchronic)
phonological process.

I was not using it in such a technical sense, nor do I limit myself to a
Jakobsonian/structuralist approach to phonological processes.

He has now shifted the question to whether the Spanish palatal nasal is
in some way a subsidiary variety of the alveolar nasal. I have never
suggested such a thing.

Nor do I understand why he is so upset.
