Several years ago I noticed that the extended character-sets in
WordPerfect 5.1 included what Unicode jargon would call LATIN SMALL
LETTER R WITH GRAVE, though I couldn't find it in Unicode v1. I asked
in sci.lang and/or comp.fonts what it might be good for, and all the
answers I got were "you mean acute, of course" ... so I forgot about it
until now, when someone mentioned surprise at seeing grave accents in
Russian.

Now I see that Unicode (v3) has, under "Additions for Slovenian and
Croatian", R with *double* grave (0210, 0211) - but I still can't find a
single grave! How strange.
