Names are just names; they have no magic powers over their referents.
I call it "Latin" because it is all an organic growth from the original
22-character Latin alphabet, starting on the day in 250 B.C. or so that
Spurius Carvilius Ruga got sick and tired of explaining why his cognomen
was spelled RVCA, and introduced the character LATIN CAPITAL LETTER C
WITH STROKE.
