Come on, Nicholas, c'mon! I don't think there's anything to apologize about.
On the contrary, I for one didn't know about this Rosetta thing and was glad
to discover about it from your post.

(I don't even think the proposal was so completely dumb. Just, it came some
fifteen years too late... and it lacks some twenty years of cleaning up and
polishing... If just we could read the initial drafts of Unicode, we would
probably find out that its original ideas were even dumber than Rosetta.
But, then, it had time and funding to evolve.)
