Do you have access to *The World's Writing Systems*? Swiggers lays out
the profusion and confusion of names for the various scripts and their
languages fairly clearly. But it's really the only basic treatment I
know of. (I was careful to get that sort of article for a number of
areas, including Anatolia and Inner Asia.)
