Kaccayana Pali Grammar

In case that someone does not hear about this new.  The Kaccayana Pali Grammar is now just published by pariyatti with nice format and detailed translation & explanation by Bhikkhu Thitzana.  You could take a look here:  

I have heard about this Pali Grammar Work - that it is traditional Pali Grammar teaching document during thousand year.  However, my question is that:  does it has any different approach or opinion compared with common western Pali Grammar textbooks and documents?  In my imagination, the western scholars have certainly researched it and synthesize its valuable contents into their works
