The "maya" after suta is a secondary affix (taddhita-paccaya) having the
sense of pakata (made, produced); Sutamayā paññā = sutena pakatā paññā
(wisdom made or produced by hearing). Sutamayā is an adjective modifying
paññā and both words are in the nom. sing., fem.

suta-mayā paññā is translated as "wisdom from hearing".
How is suta-mayā from hearing?
If it is ablative (as it seems to me), shouldn't it be suta-asmā or
suta-amhā or something like that?
Where did mayā come from?
