Thanks very much for your help. For me, the text in your email looks garbled, but I can figure out what you meant. So something needs to be done about the email settings, but I am simply switching to Velthuis for now.

So yes, I am working through the Saku.nagghisutta.m, which is apparently PTS SN V 146. I was stuck on:

myaaya.m = me + aaya.m

yuddhaayaa'ti = yuddhaaya + iti

I downloaded Duroiselle; will order Warder in the future. In fact, the first form is explicitly shown by Duroiselle 27. For the second form, I thought that a + i = e. Duroiselle 21 indicates that this is "generally" the case, but also indicates that a + iti = aati.

So that clears it up for me. Thanks again for your help
