Dear Venerable,
I gave my own translation of the sentence in the previous post. I basically
took your own rendition but I changed the sense of (heṭṭhupariyāyena) as "
above and below." But it should have been "below and above" (heṭṭhā =
below, upari = above).
And on second thought, (gamanassādīnaṃ) can be also analyzed as follows:
gamana + assāda =gamanassāda ("enjoyment of travelling")
gamanassāda + in (possessive suffix) = gamanassādin ("those having an
enjoyment of travelling"), of which the genitive plural form would
be "gamanassādīnaṃ". Then it is also correct.
