Dear Khristos Nizamis,
regarding sammati - sammuti sammati is the form used in Thai editions
throughout for sammuti in all shades of the word.
vutta.m heta.m, vuttañcetaṃ is used in commentaries and
subcommentaries, if they quote from canonical scriptures. tenaahu
poraa.naa or yathaahu poraa.naa is a relative reference. It refers to
a source younger than the writer, and these sources may be totally
different. In Ud-a (306) a quotation preceded by these words refers
to Pa.tis (ii 115). In most cases, however, these words refer to some
older commentaries. In case of the Vism many of the quotations are
traced in the Samantapaasaadika, and the commentaries to the
Suttapi.taka including the words tenaahu poraa.naa. Here the question
arises where they are quoted first. Anyway I suppose that most of
these references are from the Siiha.la.t.thakathaa. But naturally one
has to check this for each quotation.
Best,
Petra
