Re: the title 'Sayadaw'

  Just to add, since I don't think anyone has mentioned it, it seems
"Saya-daw" is taken on at the time a respected monk takes over
administration of a specific monastery, and is thereupon named after
that monastery, e.g. Mahasi Sayadaw was named after the Mahasi (Big
Drum) monastery when he became head of that monastery, Ledi Sayadaw was
named after the Ledi forest, upon building the Ledi-tawya monastery therein.
