One more that might be of interest or use, from Vin 4.1.11 (PTS MV i.23):
"taṃ kiṃ maññatha vo, kumārā, katamaṃ nu kho tumhākaṃ varaṃ yaṃ vā tumhe
itthiṃ gaveseyyātha, yaṃ vā attānaṃ gaveseyyāthā"ti?[1] <#_ftn1>
"etadeva, bhante, amhākaṃ varaṃ yaṃ mayaṃ attānaṃ gaveseyyāmā"ti.
"tena hi vo, kumārā, nisīdatha, dhammaṃ vo desessāmī"ti.
"Now what do you think, young men? Which would be better for you, to seek a
woman or to seek your selves?"
"This would be better for us, Sir: to seek our selves."
"Then be seated, young men. I will teach you the Dhamma."
Best wishes,
Kh.

[1] <#_ftnref1> ‘Gavesati’ [gava + esati]: originally, to search after cows
(‘gava-’ is the base of the noun ‘go’, bull or cow, used in compounds);
hence, to seek, search for, to wish for, strive after (PED 247.2).
