Kaccaayana has a rule (optional) for the "a.m" ending in the nom.
sing. of present participles (see Kacc 186), I also glanced at the Mmd
commentary where it gets a bit more complicated. Basically, "a.m" is
the substitute of the "nta" suffix of the stem "passambhayanta-"
