Subject: [palistudy] Mmd-p.t passage regarding Kc 1 (3 of 3)
Here is the last part:
yathā hi thirasāramayo karaṇḍako thiro hoti || tasmiṃ thire
tadantogadhasāraratanaṃ na vinassati || avinaṭṭhe tasmiṃ
taṃsāmikassa phalāsā samijjhati | evaṃ thirasārapadanipphādanabyāpāre kate
byañjanakaraṇḍako thiro hoti || tasmiṃ thire attharatanaṃ na nassati
tadabhidheyyaṃ || tasmiṃ anaṭṭhe paṭipatti na nassati || anaṭṭhāya
paṭipattiyā paṭipannakānaṃ phalāsā samijjhati || Mmd-pṭ 44,7-14 ||
For, as a box made of strong heartwood is strong; when it is strong, a
precious jewel enclosed within is not lost; when this is not lost, the
owner's expectation of a result is realized; so, when the work of producing
a word from solid heartwood (the letters) is done, the box of the phrasing
(words) is strong; when this is strong, the jewel of the meaning, the named
(of the phrasing), is not lost; when this is not lost, the way is not lost;
when the way is not lost, the followers' expectation of a result is
realized.
Best wishes, Jim
