Dear Bryan and Jim,
Thanks for following up on that... glad to have the original source. I only
have an excerpt in Thai (from Vyakarana Pali by Dr. Subhaparn Na Bangchang)
that doesn't even mention the pali words "udayabbaya"; it just says he was
meditating on the arising and falling away and as his mindfulness slipped
away, he switched to "udakabaka". After making some inquiries at the Wat
Mahadhatu section 25, I was given the explanation of "udayabaya.m" as the
original. I wonder where he got "gha.tapa.to" from?
