Dhammapadaṃ, 3. Cittavaggo (Thought), Verse 33

phandanaṃ capalaṃ cittaṃ | dūrakkhaṃ dunnivārayaṃ ||
ujuṃ karoti medhāvī | usukārova tejanaṃ || 33 ||

1)

33. As a fletcher makes straight his arrow, a wise man makes straight
his trembling and unsteady thought, which is difficult to guard,
difficult to hold back.

-- Translation by F. Max Müller from The Dhammapada, p. 12,
     Vol. X of The Sacred Books of the East, 1881

2)

33. The wise man makes straight his trembling, unsteady thought
which is difficult to guard and difficult to restrain, just as a
fletcher makes an arrow straight.

-- Translation by K.R. Norman from The Word of the Doctrine, p. 6,
    The Pali Text Society, 2000
