Dhammapadaṃ, 2. Appamādavaggo (Carefulness), Verse 30

appamādena maghavā | devānaṃ seṭṭhataṃ gato ||
appamādaṃ pasaṃsanti | pamādo garahito sadā || 30 ||

30. By earnestness did Maghavan (Indra) rise to the lordship of the gods.
       People praise earnestness; thoughtlessness is always blamed.
