I was wondering if someone could answer a question. Is
there a difference between the prepositions "saha" and
"sadhi.m" (both translate as "with")? are there particular
reasons to use one instead of another in certain cases?
sadhi.m is etymologically related to Sanskrit sadhri.h. The Sanskrit
grammarian Panini regards sadhri.h as a substitute morfeme for saha and
evidently considers their denotation to be the same. However, in contrast to
saha that occurs in canonical Pali as the first member of compounds,
saddhi.m is never found in such environments except in post-canonical Pali.
