Dear Venerable Dhammanando,
I value of Pali-l in its current form.
Often with the doctrinal debates pali words need to be discussed
and reviewed in a way that is more natural (and crucial) than the
lessons that we usually loook at. For instance your valuable input
on the recent dicussion about ordination procedures would never have
come about if the list was resticted to Pali language issues only. .
Also this group has some members highly knowledgeable in both pali
and doctrine= yourself, ven. Pandita, Nina, Teng kee and Suan,( for
instance). While you and they may dispense their doctrinal/pali help
among the other 2236 buddhist groups the fact that you/they are here
now concentrates their knowledge and availabity. It would be a pity
IMHO to risk dispersing it.
