I admit I don't know the answer to what type of compounds these are.
I only know they mean "seen before"and "heard before". I've been
waiting for one of the Pali experts to jump in and enlighten us.

This one I would say is:
mahaapaasaadato = mahataa + pasaadato [K] ("from the great palace")
