Dear Nina,

Thank you for your help. After reading your post, and doing a little
research and consideration, I understand better about sampaja~n~na...
surely it is not simply self-possession as I had.

I am thinking about these things:

1) the prefix "sam" meaning "sameur" or "prom" (in Thai)

2) the relationship with sampajaana in "sampajaanamusavada"

and I wonder if this is possible: "full comprehension"? I am hesitant
with "clear", as it doesn't seem to fit "sam"...

This makes:

satthaka sampajañña = full comprehension in regards to purpose
sappaya sampajañña = full comprehension in regards to suitability
gocara sampajañña = full comprehension in regards to resort
asammoha sampajañña = full comprehension in regards to non-delusion

In regards to Vipassana practice, sampaja~n~na means full
comprehension in regards to the three characteristics, is that
correct?

Best wishes,

Yuttadhammo
