Once you start reading the Thai script, you will very soon get used to it.

Back in the eighties, before the Internet and CD roms, I bought the full
Tipitaka and several commentaries in Bangkok, in Thai script. These
editions were far less expensive than the PTS editions.

And now I really think I prefer to read Pali in Thai script. The Thai
writing has a very special beauty of its own.
