Thank-you for your translation of part of SA267 which I thought a good
one. It should help shed more light. About three years ago, I took a
look at some of the Pali in the sutta (cara.na in particular) along
with its commentary and subcommentary in addition to the related
exposition on citta in the Atthasaalinii. It seemed to me at the time
too difficult for me to make any coherent sense out of some of it and
so I ended up setting it aside for another time. When I have more time
I'll take another look at the Pali material in light of your
translation and the interesting discussion we've been having and get
back to you a little later on this. I just got involved with another
Pali thread on the syntax of a Pali verse on my own list and would
like to focus my attention there for the next little while. I checked
out the differences between -tt- and -nt- in the Devanagari,
Sinhalese, Burmese, and Thai scripts and found that the two digraphs
could be confused in the Devanagari and Sinhalese scripts, but not in
the other two.

I'll follow up with some more comments later on.
