Thank you, Nina, for your customary instructive comments. Iím interested
in learning more about this word paa.tha. Can someone help? PTS also has
ìtext-readingî and ìtextî as meanings.

Paa.tho doesnít seem to be used (much? at all?) as a formal section of
text. I canít find it in any names. Hereís what Iíve found for such
words for ìsectionsî of text:

pi.taka (basketóÝa later appelation of the scriptures/PTS)
nikaaya (collection, assemblage);
vagga (chapter, section, but also ìseparated, incompleteî);
nipaata (section of a book)
sutta (text, discourse, also: ìthread, stringî)
kathaa (sermon, discourse, talk, story)
gaathaa (verse, stanza, line of poetry)
There may be others...

Paa.thaka means ìreciter, one who knows, expertî (PTS). I guess thatís
similar in class to a tevijja ìknower of the three vedasî and tepi.taka,
pe.taka, etc.
