However, I'd like to offer an alternative translation:

Then, when it was morning, the Blessed One,
having dressed and taken his robe and bowl,
entered Saavatthi for alms."

Notes:

1. I know "when it was morning" is as Bhikkhu Bodhi translated it in his Majjhima Nikaya. I simply can't think of a more accurate translation. Literally, "pubba.nhasamaya.m" means "morning time", which sounds rather weird in English, but that's how it is expressed with Asian languages that I know. "When it was morning" seems to be the closest English can get.

2. I included "aadaaya" in it.
