> Kim pana tva.m ma~n~nasi aya.m puna pi parikkhabbam?
Aama, aavuso, ta.m puna parikkhaama!
Here's the Pali:
"Tasmaatiha, bhikkhave, eva.m sikkhitabba.m: `yesañca maya.m
paribhuñj±ma ciivara-pi.n.dapaata-senaasana-gilaanappaccaya-bhesajja-
parikkhaara.m, tesa.m te kaaraa mahapphalaa bhavissanti mahaa-
nisa.msaa, amhaakañcevaaya.m pabbajjaa avañjhaa bhavissati saphalaa
sa-udrayaa'ti. Evañhi vo, bhikkhave, sikkhitabba.m: `attattha.m vaa,
bhikkhave, sampassamaanena alameva appamaadena sampaadetu.m;
parattha.m vaa, bhikkhave, sampassamaanena alameva appamaadena
sampaadetu.m; ubhayattha.m vaa, bhikkhave, sampassamaanena alameva
appamaadena sampaadetu"n'ti.
And here's the English that still doesn't seem quite right:
"Because of what I have said here, monks, you should train yourselves
like this: `For those whose requisites we use - the robes, alms-bowl,
chair, bed, and support and medicine when sick - for their gifts,
there will be great fruits, great merits, and this going forth will
not be in vain, will have a result.' You should you train yourselves
like this: For your own benefit, monks, it is right to strive with
vigilance and heedfulness; for the benefit of others, monks, it is
right to strive with vigilance and heedfulness; for the benefit of
both, monks, it is right to strive with vigilance and heedfulness."
