to nail, to hit
Dozens of words from this root including the obvious chekich (hammer).

Another one of these famous words :-)

choban means "shepherd' and is related to the verb chap (to run, to make
the horse run, trot,etc)

It went on for 2-3 years on sci.lang e.g. chapandash (buzkashi player)
meaning
"left-thrower" according to a left-thrower who thinks words can be from
every language
even if the home etymology is as ridiculous as to be on Saturday Night
Live while ignoring
dozens of related words attesting almost perfectly to the meaning of the
word.

This is likely from charp and may be related to the other word. It means
"to strike, raid" etc
and shows up in other words like chapul, chapulcu, etc. It was posted to
sci.lang many times.
No effect on left-throwers.

Morning Star. It could be related to the *ya/*yu root e.g. yulduz
(start), Chuvash s'altar.
Notice the phonetic closeness to stellar, star, etc.
