The article below says that the picture carved represents
the constellation Orion. It is said to be 32,000 years
old. There is a similar statutuette from Anatolia around the
time of the Hittites or earlier, in the book by McQueen on
Hittites.


It looks like humans were much more aware of things than
we give credit for,and indeed it should be that way.

We know that chimpanzees use tools, but relatively recently
psychologists performed experiments with birds (crows?).
They put worms in deep containers that crows could not reach
and left bits of copper wire around. Crows bent the copper
wire into hooks and dug out the worms.
