Cruithne is just Gaelic for Prettani, which is what they seem to have
been called. (Remember P and B in Brythonnic becomes C and G in
Gaelic). This is very close to the name for Britain observed by the
Romans. It would thus appear that the P Celts in Ireland were all
called Cruithne, whether they were Picts or not is anyone's guess.
