Yes, <færið> is the modern Icelandic spelling of <frið>,
but what we got was <færuð>. Ah, now I see: your <færið>
here is a typo for <færuð>. (I just checked Stefán
Einarsson, _Icelandic_, which confirms that the ending is
now <-uð> rather than <-ið>; apparently it was transferred
from the past indicative.)
