I have two books here which I can recommend you try - most likely the Art school that you are attending would have a good library

1. The Penguin Book of Norse Myths by Kevin Crossley Holland ISBN 0-14-025869-8
2. Norse Mythology by John Lindow pub. OUP and it's ISBN 0-19-515382-0

The Penguin appears to be about £8.99 UK and $19.99 (Canada)
The OUP Volume appears to be $18.95 US

Kevin Crossley Holland is always good value but you might appreciate John Lindow as the more Scholarly of the two - what ever takes your fancy, and both are very worthy Paper Backs,
I am not sure - from where you are writing - but - the prices are just a guide, and I feel that a trip through your Art School Library would be the best place to start
I hope I have helped

thank you for the invitation. I have little to none
experience with the language besides the website but
am happily following your translations. I haven't had
much time to study because I am at art school, but was
interested in knowing if there were any good books of
old norse mythology? if you'd happen to know that
would be great.
Thanks again- Anastasie
