Hi all and happy New Year!

> Hallgerður leitaði á Gunnar mjög er hann hafði sæst á vígið.
> Hallgerð reproached Gunnar much when he had settled on the slaying.

'sæst' = ON 'sæzt', pp. of sættask.

> Betra þykir mér að (is að acting as a conjunction here?) látast í
þínu húsi,
> (It) seems to me better that (I) die in your house,'

Infinitive marker, I think. I guess this one of the reasons why many
linguists consider 'mér' to be the subject of 'þykkir', even though
it's dative.

> Hallgerður kvað hann sér (is sér reflexing back to hún or hann?) vel
fallinn (Z11 ?) til verkstjóra.

I think 'sér' = Hallgerðr.

> Z11 ?

That's how Magnús Magnússon and Hermann Pálsson take it; and see also
Z 'fallinn' 4 "suited to (one)".
