I have the lyrics sheet from Tyr for the song Ormurin Langi as it is printed on the sleeve of the cd and can post that if it would help.

Thanks for this lead, and precious recorded soundfiles for the Faroese
language.
As for Sigmunds kvi (one of the ballads recorded in the mp3 file
clip there) the text can readily be found on several sites by
performing a cursory Google search, while F. York Powell has translated
the "Ballad of Sigmund" in his introduction to the translation of
Faereyinga saga (http://www.northvegr.org/lore/faereyinga/00003.php).
On a somewhat different note, I recently visited the http://tjatsi.fo/
(Faroese stamp) site and discovered the islands have issued a set of 10
stamps based on the ballad of Ormurin Langi, the longship built by Olaf
Tryggvasson. I have
taken a crack at translating a few strophes (the
verses sung by the rock group Tyr).
