Patricia you have just made a complete idiot of yourself, ~I
totally mis=read the Amazon .co.uk page, Oh for goodness sake ignore that one
please, but when I copied and pasted in on Amazon the title you
gave, they did actually give an error message.
Amazon could not trace that title, is it possible that
the following could be the title depending on where your copy was
published perhaps this one from Amazon.co.uk is the same
volume
Tolkien and the Mythic Imagination
(that was copied from Amazon and is the closest they could give
me)
Hope that is possible, Grief, whats up withthe font on
this PC
I have parts 1 & 2 and am hoping to receive part
3 very shortly, have also applied for membership to the Viking
Society, I have an idea it might be a good thing to make the effort,
to correspond with the Group or privately, in Old Norse, that sounds
appealing and it would assist our studies, perhaps, it seems possible,
Tolkien may have done that, and part of the appeal of the project lies
right there.
Ok! Ok! I have been in
touch with Michael Barnes and will be getting his grammar and
reader next week from the Viking Society - until then still
plowing my way through E.V. Gordon.
BTW: One of my
holiday presents was Jane Chance's Tolkien and the Mythic
Imagination which has some good essays on Tolkien and the role
studying Old Norse (and the Oxford Kolbiter saga reading club)
played in the development of his legendiarum.
Best, Andy
BTW: Do we ever actially try to communicate in Old Norse
on this mail group - not there yet but
just wondering.
