Can I just ask a couple of questions please?

1 Þá var Jökulsdalr albyggðr upp at brúm.  – what bridges?

2 Exactly where in Iceland is all this taking place?

Hi Simon!

Glad you're still with us.  About question #1:  According to old sources there was a natural stone arch across the river in the vicinity of the farm Bru (Bridge), but man made bridges existed from the earliest epochs of history.  Taken from  http://www.nat.is/travelguideeng/plofin_river_jokulsa_a_bru.htm

question #2:  MOORLAND FLJOTDALSHEIDI
Moorland Fljotdalsheidi stretches between the valleys Jokuldalur and Fljotdalur.  It is vast, vegetated area with a 4wd track between the farms Bessastadir and Klaustursel.  Website describing the moorlands: http://www.nat.is/travelguideeng/plofin_eastern_moorlands.htm

I have also scanned a portion of a map showing Eastern Iceland which I can send to you as a .pdf file.  It shows Bru and Hrafnkelsdalr and even Aðalbol.  However, it is a HUGE file -- over 10 mg.  If your e-mail can handle it, I will send it to you.
