Hullo,

I thought this might be of interest to some members as it deals with a
language that has been influenced by Old Norse and Norn, as well as Norse
history and influence on the islands

SHETLANDIC

[In English]

Shetlandic is a forum for discussion in and about Shetlandic (Shaetlan) -
the language of Shetland. Its past, the influence upon it of Old Norse, Norn
and Scots, as well as its current situation and future. The history of
Shetland is also open to discussion; the people, events and literature that
have shaped its development.

The "main language" has be designated "English" in the group's language
category, since this is now the international 'lingua franca', but posts
written in Shetlandic are especially welcome. Members are, of course, free
to write in English.

Shetlandic also has a Files section which members can access and add to".
