Following on from the discusion abvout the greeting "hailsa" does
anyone know why Norse Pagans use the sign-off "wassail" or "waes hael"?

I have a feeling this might be slapdash attempt at Anglo Saxon for "be
Healthy" (?!?) in which case its obviously not our subject for
discussion but can anyone suggest where its from exactly and whether
the grammatical strcuture is right?
