A perfect equivalent as compared with Rum. /bont/ "stump" and /bot/, when
this one is used with the same "stump" meaning.

OTOH, I see a link to ... "buck" --- via "stump":

In Romanian, a "female deer" is called /ciutä/ [tSut&]. In Albanian AFAIK
/shut/ or /shüt/. In Hungarian /csuta/ + /suta/ [tSutO / SutO] (and there is
an adj. /csutak/; another one, in other contexts: /csutka/, vide infra). The
main idea being "withouth horns/antlers, not antlered". AFAIK, Czech &
Ukrainian /Å¡uta/, Polish /szuty/.

But in Romanian, adj. /ciut,-a/ has "siblings": ciot "stub"; ciunt/ciont + ciung
(+ (a rarer) cionc) "amputated; mutilated" (esp. one-armed). Which are akin
to Hung. csonka + csutka; It. ciotto + cioncare/ciuncari, cionc(at)o.
