If gender is neuter, accusative is identical with nominative

How are the accusatives of PIE neuter s-stems formed?  I know (although I might be wrong) that the oblique cases are formed on the genitive stem.  What about the accusative, though?  I would think it would be formed on the nominative formed.  I see a number of possibilities.  Taking *regwos, regwes- "dark place" as an example:

*regwos, if neuter accusatives are the same as neuter nominatives, as in Latin and German.
*regwosm, if the root of the accusative is the nominative, but an accusative ending is added.
*regwesm, if the root of the accusative is the genitive root, with an accusative ending.
Or something else entirely that I don't now about.  I'm still feeling my way here.
