Which doesn't make it any less imaginary. I would say "controversial" if
I saw any *acceptable* evidence for it, no matter how weak.

That would require a minimum of shared ground. Few archaeologists bother
to "constructively" criticise von Däniken or Cremo, and most biologists
prefer not to discuss Intelligent Design, since they know in advance the
discussion would be futile.
